Gail Goodrich was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers as a territorial pick in the 1965 NBA draft. He scored 53 points which is his career high in points against the Kansas City-Omaha Kings. He won his first NBA championship in 1972. He's a 5 time NBA all star and was all NBA first team in 1974. His jersey was retired on November 20, 1996. He ranks among all-time Lakers leaders in 7 categories, some are total points (sixth, 13,044), assists (seventh, 2,863), free throws made (seventh, 2,863), and games played (ninth, 687). He played 14 seasons before he retired in 1979. At the end of his career he averaged 18.6 points per game, 3.2 rebounds per game, and 4.7 assists per game. He also scored all together at the end of his career 19,181 points, he had 3,279 rebounds, and 4,805 assists. In 1996 he was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
