Magic Johnson

Magic Johnson was drafted in 1979 as the first pick in the draft to the Lakers. Johnson's achievements includes three finals MVP awards, won 5 out of 9 NBA championships he was in, 12 all star games, and ten all NBA first and second team selections. He led the league in assists 4 times and is the NBA's all time leader in average assists per game, at 11.2. Magic Johnson was a member of the 1992 United States men's NBA dream team and the won the Olympic gold medal in 1992. Johnson is the only player in NBA history to win the NBA finals MVP award. Johnson was one out of three players to get at least 700 points, 700 rebounds, and 700 assists in a single season. In his career he scored altogether 17,707 points, got 6,559 rebounds, and have 10,141 assists. In his career he averaged 19.5 points per game, 7.2 rebounds and, 11.2 assists. Magic Johnson was selected to the NBA's 50th anniversary all time team. Johnson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in 2002.

#2 Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant was the 13th draft pick in 1996 to the Charlotte Hornets but, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers during the draft. Kobe was the first guard to be drafted out of high school in 1996. He was the youngest NBA player to start a NBA game and the youngest to score 27,000 points in a career. Kobe won 5 NBA finals and earned 2 finals MVP awards. In his career he only won a single MVP award in 2008. He is a 16 time NBA all star and won 4 all star MVP awards. He was selected to the all NBA team 15 times and 12 all defensive teams. He won the slam dunk contest in his rookie season and won 2 scoring titles. Right now he is the Lakers all time leading scorer and he currently plays for the Lakers still. Kobe career averages are 25.5 points per game, 4.8 assists per game, and 5.3 rebounds per game.

Wilt came to the Lakers through a trade on July 9, 1968. Through his career Wilt made it to the finals plenty of times but only won two NBA finals and was named finals MVP in the 1972. Wilt was a 13 time NBA all star and won all star MVP in 1960. He was on the all NBA team 10 times and was on the all defensive team 2 times. He was a 7 time scoring champion, he was the assist leader one year, and he was a 11 time rebounding champion. He's the NBA all time leader in rebounds which is 23,924. Some records Wilt hold in the NBA are regular single season points scored which is 4,029, he scored the most points in one game which is 100, and averaged the most points in a single season which is 50.4 points a game. In his career he averaged 30.1 points a game, 22.9 rebounds per game, and 4.4 assists per game. Wilt was inducted into the NBA 35th and 50th anniversary teams. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in 1978.

Elgin Baylor was drafted to the Lakers in 1958 as the first pick of the draft. In his rookie year he averaged 24.9 points a game, 15.0 rebounds per game, and 4.1 assists per game and earned rookie of the year. His career high in points is 71 points against the Knicks in 1960. In his career he was a 11 time NBA all star and won all star MVP in 1959. He was selected to the all NBA team 10 times in his career. Elgin averaged 27.4 points a game, 13.5 rebounds a game, and 4.6 assists a game also altogether he had 23,149 points, 11,463 rebounds, and 3,650 assists in his whole career. Elgin was inducted on to the NBA 35th and 50th anniversary all time team. He has the record for the most scoring championships which stands at 7. Elgin was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1977. His jersey number 22 was retired on November 9th, 1983.

Jerry West was selected to the Lakers in 1960 as the 2nd pick in the draft. "The Logo", in reference to his silhouette was incorporated into the NBA logo. Jerry West is one of the greatest scorers ever and he holds the record for the highest points per game in a playoff series with 46.3. In his career he was in the NBA finals 9 times but only winning one in 1972. Jerry is the only NBA player to lose in the NBA finals but still earn the NBA finals MVP. Jerry was a 14 time NBA all star and received the all star MVP in 1972. He was a 12 time all NBA selection and a 5 time all defensive selection. Jerry was the scoring champion in 1970 and the assists leader in 1972. Jerry was inducted into the NBA 35th and 50th anniversary team. His jersey number 44 was retired by the Lakers on November 19, 1983. Out of his career he averaged 27.0 ppg, 5.8 rpg, and 6.7 apg and altogether he had 25,192 points, 5,366 rebounds, and 6,238 assists. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was drafted into the NBA in 1969 as the 1st pick to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Lakers required Kareem in 1975 in a trade. In his career he won 6 NBA finals and earned two final MVPs, he became a 6 time league MVP, a 19 time NBA all star, he was a 15 time all NBA team, 11 time all defensive team, he earned rookie of the year and was on the rookie first team, 2 time NBA scoring champion, 4 time NBA block leader, lead the NBA in rebounds one season, and the all time leading scorer for NBA. He is the all time leading scorer for the Bucks. He holds the single season record for rebounds standing at 1,111. His hook shot was a reliable and feared offensive weapon and contributed to his high lifetime field goal percentage of 0.559. He was the last player to have 4,000or more PRA (points, rebounds, assists) in a single season.  In his career he averaged 24.6 ppg, 11.2 rpg, and 2.5 bpg. In his career he totaled for 38,387 points which in the NBA record, 17,440 rebounds, and 3,189 blocks in his career. His number 33 was retired by the Lakers, he made the NBA's 35th and 50th anniversary teams, and named one of the 50 greatest players of all time in 1996.he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on May 15, 1995.

Shaq was signed as a free agent to the Los Angeles Lakers in 1995. He was drafted in 1992 to the Orlando Magic as the 1st pick in the draft. He won rookie of the year and averaged 23.4 points a game, 13.9 rebounds a game, and 3.5 blocks a game in his rookie season. He won 3 championships with the Lakers and earning 3 finals MVP. He won two gold medals in 1996 and 1999. Out of his career he averaged 23.7 points a game, 2.3 blocks a game, and 10.9 rebounds a game. He won season MVP in 2000, 2 time scoring leader, 3 time all star MVP, 15 time NBA all star, 14 NBA all NBA, and 3 NBA all defensive team. He was the only player to score 40 points and grab 20 rebounds 4 times in his career. Shaq jersey number 34 was retired on April 2nd. 2013. He retired after the 2010-11 season.
